Nether Stowey
Nether Stowey and the surrounding area is home to about 4,000 people. It is a thriving and active community on the edge of the Quantocks.
The Village Hall and Recreation Grounds are at the centre of the community. The Village Hall was used for everything from the local cinema to parties, theatre, and other local gatherings. The local residents use the Recreation ground for everything from football to children’s play, walks with the dogs to skateboarding.
Our village is a lovely place to be, and we welcome you to take part and use our Village Hall and Recreation Ground.

Senior Mens Football Training session
The Recreation Ground
The recreation ground with its open space, the MUGA, Football pitches, Children’s Playground and Clubhouse has something for everyone.
You can take a walk, watch the activities or even take part yourselves.
The Village Hall
An important part of any village is its Village Hall, ours has been an important part of our thriving community since 1922.
It has held dinners, weddings, community events, local cinema, craft fairs, pantomimes, yoga classes, parish meetings, theatre, flower shows, Twinning Events, visiting musicians, French Food Festival, children’s parties and a refuge in times of emergency.
Stowey Green Spaces
We are lucky to be on the edge of the Quantocks, where you will find Millennium and Jubilee Woods, Stowey Wood, The Mount, the Bypass Wood and Walk, as well as other green walks and spaces.
Stowey Green Space Group (SGSG) volunteers look after these lovely places, planting trees, clearing brash and brambles and much more, so we can all enjoy them.
Stowey Centre Project
An ambitious plan to develop a modern community centre, combining arts, sport and many other recreational facilities has begun.
The idea is to relocate the current Village Hall into a spacious new building on the recreation ground, a venue fit for the future.
