We start 2022 on a positive!
Stowey Centre Project
The Trustees of the charity would like to share exciting news about the Stowey Centre Project to relocate the Village Hall to the recreation ground. After a challenging year due to the pandemic, a planning application Trustees have worked incredibly hard to submit a planning application to Sedgemoor District Council for a new village hall with changing rooms, a car park and appropriate vehicle and pedestrian access. The building is to be located in the North-West corner of the recreation ground backing onto the cemetery boundary and alongside the A39 with access off the old A39.
Full plans and supporting documents will be uploaded to the Sedgemoor District Council planning portal over the next few weeks (this activity is out of the control of the charity). Objections should be submitted in accordance with the planning process.
Copies of the plans will be displayed at the Portacabin on the recreation ground and can be found on the Stowey Centre Project page.
Trustees welcome constructive comments and can be made via email firstname.lastname@example.org
The charity’s Annual General Meeting is to be held at the Nether Stowey Village Hall, Lime Street on Thursday 20th January at 7.00 pm. Members of the charity and local residents are welcome to attend (unless COVID19 restrictions require an online meeting instead).
The village has shown overwhelming support for the project and we look forward to delivering a centre fit for purpose and future generations.
